Rich jerk Russell Bayne (Jeremy London) gets attacked by a werewolf and as it comes to grips with this, he finds himself involved in ancient-vampire-wants-to-rule-the-world shenanigans. The audience is led to believe Bayne is going to be the lead character (see movie title) but he just gets lost in a slew of mayhem and more charismatic actors.
This was a low-budget Sy-Fy movie, I won’t rag on the budget constraints. The ending is a big, messy brawl and indicative of the writing in general. It lacks focus, and it lacks a strong central character for the audience to relate to. One of those easily forgettable movies after the new moon comes and goes.
