Back when comic book movies did not take themselves seriously in the slightest, and critics and audiences followed suit. This Jim Wynorski-directed schlockfest features Swamp Thing (Dick Durock), dastardly scientist Anton Arcane (Louis Jourdan), and his daughter Abby (Heather Locklear) in some thin plot about bio-genetic research.
This has the lowest box office of any comic-book based movie to hit theaters in any semblance of a wide release. It apparently has bit of a cult following, due to the camp factor. I couldn’t dig it, though I did enjoy the two kids who try to get a picture of Swamp Thing. I would say they were the comic relief–but everybody tries to be the comic relief.
