Charismatic magician Simon Sinestrari (Andrew Prine) gets into a beef with a local jerk and a romance with a city official’s young daughter, both incidents converging to cause Simon problems in his quest to travel to an extra-dimensional realm and become a powerful mystical entity.

I like this movie. It is a quirky, late 60’s psychedelic occult freak out but it remains grounded enough that you actually care about what happens to Simon by the end. It has a little bit of humor, a touch of horror, and some goofy supporting characters, particularly Simon’s helper Turk (George Paulsin).

I give it 3 out of 4 paws: lion paw lion paw lion paw
