I found this one a little hard to follow, so I had to do some research on it afterward.
Boris Zaroff (Michel Lemoine) is a descendent of General Zaroff from Richard Connell’s famous story The Most Dangerous Game, living in Paris. Boris is haunted by visions of his deceased love Anne (Joëlle Coeur) and her ghost seems to be bent on driving him to madness and suicide.
His servant Karl (longtime Jess Franco collaborator Howard Vernon) is encouraging Boris to follow in his ancestor’s horrid footsteps by hunting and killing young women at his estate. Sandwiched Between these two forces, Boris looks and acts completely crazy throughout the movie. Lemoine looks like an even crazier version of Stephen King!
According to IMDB, this movie won an award for Best Cinematography at a foreign film festival, and that’s the only redeeming thing I can comment on. It lacked cohesion and a richer dive into Boris’s love story with Anne.
