Inspector Gaspare Lomenzo (Michele Placido) is investigating a series of murders where the killer leaves pages from an illustrated children’s book. He falls for the beautiful Jeanne (Corinne Cléry) who seems to know more than she is letting on. I won’t spoil the movie, but I have to admit, I found the ending a little confusing.

Eli Wallach is entertaining in a supporting role, and Tom Skerritt has a small role as well. Placido was supposed to charming (I guess) but he rubbed me the wrong way. There are many other Italian thrillers out there more satisfying than this one.
