As expected, a very sweet, zany adventure with Clerks side characters Jay (Jason Mewes) and Silent Bob (Kevin Smith). The plot doesn’t really matter, it is just the canvas for the one-liners, inside jokes, sight gags, cameos, call backs, snark, etc. In a nutshell, Jay and Silent Bob need to head back to Hollywood to stop another Bluntman and Chronic movie, this one a reboot of the first (and a subsequent running joke about the definition of reboot vs. remake).
The added element is Jay meets Milly (Harley Quinn Smith), the daughter he never knew about, and she and her friends join the two for their cross-country trek. The heart of the story centers around parenthood and the change in perspective it brings towards life.
Mewes and Smith both survived the reaper in different ways over the course of their very long friendship, and there is a wonderful moment at the end with Jay talking about how much that bond has meant to him. Silent Bob is pretty silent throughout and that gives Mewes the opportunity to carry much of the comedy. He does great! Probably his best performance to date.
