Many people did not like the “twist” in this move, I thought it was great. And it winds up allowing a fuller treatment of the Mandarin character in the upcoming Shang-Chi movie. In The Avengers movie, Steve Rogers asks Tony Stark “What are you without your suit?” In Iron Man 3, Stark is stripped of his gadgets and has to use his wits to get by for awhile. It is refreshing! I don’t think I would have liked a third straight metal-on-metal Iron Man outing. While I found the ending to be pretty meh, I really enjoyed the middle part, even the parts with the kid.
