Baron Zorn (Robert Hardy) and his son Emil and daughter Elizabeth are all traumatized by the violent suicide of the Baroness. Zorn becomes convinced he has passed along his insanity genetically. Doctor Falkenberg (Patrick Magee) disagrees, saying this is mental and that Zorn is causing the kids’ trauma with his mind. He seems to be intent on trying some bastardization of hypnosis on the family to fix them.

The Zorn family live in a manor outside of a village. Pretty blonde girls are getting murdered and the villagers start pointing the finger in the Baron’s direction. The two conflicts wind up coming to a head in a violent climax.

The nuttiness of the Baron is infuriating and frustrating, but I guess that is the catalyst for the plot. I won’t go into spoilers in case you decide to watch it.
