Before I watched it, I thought it would be a modernized Black Devil Doll From Hell but it is much more of a blaxploitation parody of Child’s Play. You’ll find nudity, gore, simulated necrophilia, rape, murder, racism, and misogyny.
And yet…
What the movie is going for, it nails it. The spirit of mass murderer/rapist militant Mubia Abul-Jama enters a ventriloquist dummy via a young woman named Heather (Heather Murphy) messing around with a ouija board at the exact time of his execution. Mubia Abul-Jama seduces Heather and convinces her to bring him her nubile friends to satisfy his intense sexual hunger.
The rest of the movie is various segments of puppet on human sexual violence. I want to tip my hat to the actresses’ handling of the puppet during various attack scenes. When they hold Mubia Abul-Jama like he is attacking them, they make it look as realistic as it was going to get.
This is a hand-operated ventriloquist dummy throughout, no CGI. The puppetry is pretty good.
