Also known as: 976-EVIL 2: The Astral Factor
SPOILERS AHEAD: In this sequel, pervert Professor Grubek (Rene Assa) has dialed the magic number and gained the ability of astral projection. Grubek has been killing female students at his school, and is arrested and locked up. With his body inert, Grubek can project his consciousness anywhere he chooses, and affect the physical world. He has a sexual fixation on student Robin (Debbie James), and also likes murdering attractive female students in general. Grubek uses his power to terrorize Robin and kill his enemies in his astral form, while his physical form remains in a jail cell.
This baffles the police, who refuse to believe Robin’s claims Grubek is still active. Showing up to help her is…Spike (Patrick O’Bryan) from the first movie! The two work together to discover how to stop Grubek, leading to a final confrontation with a bit of a surprise twist.
There is nothing terrible about this movie, Assa is good as the villain. It very much relies on the special effect of the astral body, and it looks a little cheap (as to be expected with the budget and it being 1992). It just lacks the menace, the violence, and the “bite” of the previous movie.
