George Willard Gives the Finger to the Music Industry
He can’t help it.- He’d sell out for less than half the money anybody who reads this makes in a year but he’s garnered no interest. How can he? He can’t sell tapes. He can’t sell records. himself, but given the chance he can sell out.
So out pour more songs about unintentional heart break, heart ache and, as always in George’s case, heart bake.
Recorded in the age old AM radio sound that comes from George’s self-produced casual production values, George also extends the finger to conventional recording methods. He’d like anybody to hear him out, to give him a chance but feels that they probably wouldn’t consider it worth it. So much for his self-esteem; our knowledge says it would be worth it.
Aside from a few audio bumps and bruises the cassette sounds, well like a cassette. And the songs are as interesting as any others coming from today’s jaded, misdirected youth. Besides some songs might make you cry.
As always there’s the low budget but extensive packaging. In its photocopied glory, (the audio equivalent art work), the pictures tell the stories while Nut music historian Qualye Smithers explains a few things too.
So here you have it. wo years in the life of George Willard on a cheap cassette. He’s only sorry you missed it.
Besides all that, George just wants his name to be synonymous with entertainment.
