Oliver Reed’s first starring role, based on the novel The Werewolf Of Paris but re-imagined in Spain to take advantage of an existing Spanish set. This is a pretty solid Hammer Horror film, Reed playing a young man born from a cursed union and battling against his fate as a killer werewolf.

The pacing is a little off, some scenes drag on a bit but the romance between Leon Corledo (Reed) and Christina Fernando (Catherine Feller) is a bit rushed — they meet, seem to very quickly fall in love and Christina prepares to break off her engagement to foppish Rico Gomez (David Conville). Half the movie is devoted to the circumstances of Leon’s birth, leaving only about 40 minutes of the adult Leon’s story.
