There is a scene in this movie where an elderly woman is stabbed by a life-size 1964-era G.I. Joe action figure while hiding under a sofa, because she reaches out for a piece of chocolate candy on the floor. It has nothing to do with the plot of the movie. This is a surrealistic blend of E.T., Alien, The Omen, and probably other movies I am forgetting. Sam Phillips goes missing under weird circumstances, presumably running off with another woman. He reappears three years later, claiming amnesia, and tries to reconnect with his wife Rachel and son Tony. Rachel has taken up with new lover Joe, who is not happy at all with this new development. Sam wasn’t just gone, he was REALLY gone for those three years, and Rachel tries to unravel the mystery of what exactly is going on.

Without giving away the plot, this movie is start to finish pretty weird and fantastical and entertaining for what it is going for: sci-fi B-movie craziness with an eighties polish.

I give it 3 out of 4 paws:  lion paw  lion paw  lion paw
